           BIHAR’S 2ND AIIMS; DARBHANGA MEDICAL COLLEGE HOSPITAL UPGRADATION 


         GOVERNMENT has announced that Bihar’s DMCH will be upgraded and will be made 2nd AIIMS Bihar. Also  PMCH will be turned 5400 bedded hospitals. It will be made world class hospital with modern tools and techniques.

           IGIMS will also be enhanced to the capacity of 2500 beds. World class treatment of eye in IGIMS will begin soon which will have contribution of Centre: State in the ratio of 60:40.

          The capital allocated for the projects are Rs.9622 crores.

SUSPENSION BRIDGE OVER PUNPUN RIVER INAUGURATED 


            It is 320 km long and capital invested was 46.77 crore.
           This is very similar to LAKSHMAN JULA AT RISHIKESH.
          It will boost the tourism in the State.

  SUKANYA SAMRIDDHI YOJANA INVESTMENT FROM RESIDENTS INCREASES

           Contributors in
          2017- 3, 64, 418 people
          2018- 4,72, 882 people.
        Bihar’s contributions nationally is 24%.

            SUKANYA SAMRIDDHI ACCOUNT

—        Launched by GoI as a part of BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO campaign.
              It is saving scheme for girl children.
      —  It motivates parents to save money for education and marriage   expenses of girl child.
    —  Account can be opened in authorized commercial banks or India Post office.

        POLYTHENE USAGE BEGINS; MAJOR FAILURE


   —  Polythene bag ban goes affectless within 2 months of announcements.
   —  Initially the administration was keen in checking shops, hotels, vegetables and fruits sellers, commercial shops etc. But lack of determination and focus was seen within a week of its implementation.
          City Task Force was set up to seize the polythene bags in use.

        BAU AND SYDNEY UNIVERSITY SIGNS RESEARCH PACT

        STATE CO-OPERATIVE DEPARTMENT will now sell the vegetables through specially designed vans in major town Patna along with 5 districts- PATNA, NALANDA, VAISHALI, SAMASTIPUR, Begusarai.(may be enhanced later)
      The vegetable’s vans will be christened as Tarkari.
   —  Van is supposed to sell vegetables in morning and evening for 4 hours.
         State co-operative department will collect, process, and sell the vegetables.

                      GUPTA PERIOD(319 AD-540 AD)

             In 4th century AD, new dynasty was established by Guptas.                           Their  kingdom was larger kingdom in Northern India. Their rule lasted successfully for more than 200 years.
       Because of the richness and prosperity in Gupta period, it was       referred as GOLDEN AGE or CLASSICAL ERA.
      The Gupta dynasty was founded by the king named GUPTA. The title Maharaja was inherited by the king.
       His son  GHATOTKACH, also inherited the title Maharaja.

        5.ART AND CULTURE AT A GLANCE

               ROCK SHELTERS OF BHIMBHETKA(2003)
           It is located if foothills of Vindhyan range of hills in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh.  Area it covers is 1893 hectares.  Rock shelters were discovered in 1957.  It exhibits  the proof of Stone Age.  It features cave paintings which dates back to 30000years.  Painting potrays two types of groups
  1. hunters and gatherers of pre-historic times.
  2. fighters of   historic times.
  The paintings of bison, tigers, rhinos(upper  paleolithic age), bows, arrows, tribal wars (mesolithic), agricultural communities (chalcolithic), religious symbols, scripts ( early historic) etc. can be seen.

        6.IMPORTANT PERSONALITY OF BIHAR.

  DR. RAJENDRA PRASAD

  He was born in Jeeradei of SARAN on 3RD DECEMBER,1884.
  In 1916, he started a weekly named BIHAR LAW.
  He was active participant in Indian National Movement from 1919 ROWLATT ACT TILL 1942 QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT.
  He was chosen as chairman of INC for 3 times.
  He was chosen as chairman of CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY.
  He became 1st PRESIDENT OF INDIA.
  He wrote a book named, INDIA UNDIVIDED.
