The evidence of early men have been found from
Southern part of Bihar.
1.PALEOLITHIC AGE IN BIHAR
This age dates back to 1,00,000
BCE.
The remains of this age has been
found from Munger and Nalanda.
The tools that were found from the
paleolithic sites of Bihar are AXES, SPEARS,
KNIVES ETC.
2. MESOLITHIC AGE
IN BIHAR
This age dates back to 9000 BCE and lasted till 4000 BCE.
The remains of this age has been
found from SINGHBHUM,
RANCHI, PALAMU, DHANBAD, SANTHAL PROVINCE.
Small sized tools made up of
stones were found. These were mostly sharp and pointed.
3. NEOLITHIC AGE
IN BIHAR
This age dates back to 2500 BCE and lasted till 1500 BCE.
The remains of this age were mainly found from CHIRAND
(SARAN) and CHECHAR (
VAISHALI).
The tools that were found from the
Neolithic sites of Bihar were made from stones and bones.
Stone implements
The
Neolithic stone implements of celts were found. Axes found were made of quartzite, basalt and granite. The
finds included nine types of microliths.The final
products in the collection are stone discs in long, cylindrical and triangular
shapes.
4. CHALCOLITHIC
AGE IN BIHAR
The remains of this age were mainly
found from CHIRAND (SARAN) and CHECHAR ( VAISHALI), BHAGALPUR and SONPUR.
Transformations in early men were
observed.
The extracts of clay pots and
utensils were found too.
