THEIR DESCRIPTIONS

—  FOR SEGREGATION OF WASTE 1 LAKH TWIN BINS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED
— In wake of segregating dry and wet wastes, 1 lakh twin bins will be distributed among households within a month in Patna.

—  BIHAR ASKS FOR SPECIAL STATE STATUS
—  On the basis of Raghuram Rajan committee report, which enlisted Bihar in 10 most backward states CM Nitish kumar has asked for SPECIAL STATUS to the state.

—  What is special state status??

—   it is given to those states which has following criteria:

  1. — Hilly and difficult terrain, 
  2. strategic location along international borders, 
  3. low per capita income, 
  4. low population density or presence of sizeable tribal population, 
  5. economic and infrastructural backwardness and
  6.  non viable State Finances.


—  Benefits from special state status?

—        1.  Firstly, this status will give exemptions from excise duty, customs duty, corporate tax and other taxes to attract investment.
     2. Secondly, it will qualify the state for 30% amount of planned expenditure of central budget. 
     3. Thirdly, preferential treatment can be availed in developmental schemes. 
     4. Fourthly, these states can avail debt relief schemes.   
     5. Last but not the least, Also the unspent money in one financial year does not get lapsed and get carry forward.

—  FIELD TO BE IRRIGATED BY SOLAR PUMPS SOON

—  Many farms or fields in Bihar are still difficult to cover with electricity and wires. So Bihar government has come up with decision to promote farming with solar pumps. This proposal was given by BIHAR RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY.
—  This will not just comfort farmer, but promote the renewable energy in state.
—  To promote this scheme, government has decided to subsidize solar pumps by 90%, which will bring the price to Rs. 10-12K( easily affordable for farmers).

—  POLIO AWARENESS RALLY BEGINS

—  Polio movement began today across length and breadth of the state.
—  This will generate awareness about polio disease, and its prevention.
—  Also children till 5 years of age will be provided with 2 drops of vaccine.
—  The movement will last till 20 June.

—  A MODEL  ANGANWADI CENTRE IN EACH BLOCK
—  To provide awareness on care, and hygiene of kids a model Anganwadi Centre will be established in every block.
—  These centres will also have facilities for small kids like toys, swings etc.
